On the morning of December 9, 2008 at the Bahia Hotel in Mission Beach, GuideOn was awarded the San Diego Military Advisory Council’s Nonprofit Achievement Award for 2008. GuideOn’s work serving the military community and the children who have lost in combat was recognized by the mayor of San Diego, Jerry Sanders and many other top military and political officials in the San Diego community.

James D. Clark and Duncan D. Hunter accepted the award on behalf of GuideOn.  They thanked the generous support of donors and volunteers that have made our program a success in touching the lives of these children whose parents made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

SAN DIEGO CHARGER VINCENT JACKSON TO RAISE FUNDS FOR GUIDEON

Star Wide Receiver Partners with Celebritees, San Diego-Based Apparel Company, to Inspire, Motivate and Give Back to Nonprofit Organization

SAN DIEGO (Nov. 5, 2008)—GuideOn, a San-Diego based charity that supports the families of fallen heroes, today announced that the San Diego Chargers’ Vincent Jackson has committed to help raise funds for the organization. Jackson teamed up with Celebritees—a one-of-a-kind company that partners with celebrities to support charities through the sales of unique apparel—to support GuideOn; all monies raised will go to the organization’s adventure programs for children. 

Celebritees “identified Jackson’s passion for helping military families, worked with him to define an essential value or lesson that he credits for his success, encapsulated that inspiration in one word—“Action”—and used it to design tee shirts that will are now available to his fans via mycelebritees.com. Twenty-to-25 percent of all sales of Jackson’s “Action” shirt will be donated to GuideOn.
